When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,Count your many blessings, name them one by one,And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;Count your blessings, see what God hath done;Count your blessings, name them one by one,And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
I’m thankful for the cross and the empty grave, that Jesus paid the price for my doubts and denials and that He miraculously defeated darkness and death.
I’m thankful for the Holy Spirit, the ever-present, never-failing, always-with-me presence
of Almighty God.
I’m thankful for the church, the beloved bride of Christ, and most particularly for the local body of believers, my church family who loves me, encourages me, and walks with me through the ups and downs of life.
I’m thankful for the Word of God that reveals truth, that lights my path, that corrects, clarifies, and convinces.
I’m thankful for light in the darkness, joy in the pain, calm in the storm, and for the assurance of God’s love even when it’s raining pitch forks and hammer handles.
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,Count your many blessings, name them one by one.
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
