John 10:27-29
Satan is much like a wolf or a bear. He’s a savage killer who’d love to have juicy and tender lamb for supper! Me and you… we’re mutton on the menu. We’re the defenseless little lamb.
Never fear, little lamb! Jesus is the Good Shepherd (John 10:11).
One of my favorite Bible Bullets is found in the Good Shepherd chapter… John 10.
“My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand”
(John 10:27–29).
By grace through faith, Jesus gives us eternal life, and we become one of the lambs under Jesus’ protective care. He’s the Good Shepherd! We’re a member of His flock.
We come to know His voice, and we faithfully follow Him to green pastures and still waters… and He goes with us through the valley of shadows.
Although the evil wolf would enjoy ripping us limb from limb, the Good Shepherd guides us and guards us. No one, not even the vicious bear or wolf, is able to snatch us from his hand. We are firmly held in his loving hand. His grip don’t slip! And, as if that’s not good enough, the Father’s hand is clasped over the Son’s hand, giving us double protection!
The bear’s not having lamb chops tonight! We “will never perish!”
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
