1 John 4:8, 16
God is Almighty, All-Knowing, and Always-Present-Everywhere. He is El Shaddai, God Almighty.
Those words could describe a divine dictator, an eternal tyrant, a distant and uncaring Creator.
But our “God is love” (1 Joh. 4:8, 16). He’s the very definition of love… love embodied. He loves (John 3:16), and He is love.
He is the “God of all grace” (1 Peter 5:10). He is “the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3).
He beckons us to “approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). We’re invited to “cast our cares on him, because he cares!” (1 Peter 5:7). He cares about our pain, our suffering, our needs and desires. He cares, because He “is love.”
And He’s not a distant and uncaring God. “The Lord is near all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry for help and saves them” (Psalm 145:18–19).
If, by faith, you will “draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8). His unbreakable promise to each of us is: “I will never leave you or abandon you” (Hebrews 13:5).
God is Almighty… and “God is love!” That’s an unbeatable combination!
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
