The devil isn’t a dummy. He knows our hot buttons and pressure points. He knows how to distract, discourage, and disappoint. He knows how to draw our attention away from God’s Word and God’s way.

As the Tempter (1 Thessalonians 3:5; Luke 4:1-13) and Accuser (Revelation 12:10), one of his most effective strategies is to condemn us. He wants guilt and shame to fester in our hearts. “Remember your sins! Remember your failures!” He wants us to drown in shame, sorrow, failures, and regret.

Each of us have sinned. We have cheated, lied, hated, rejected, and denied the truth. We’re guilty. There’s no question. But…

Paul, the great missionary pastor and author of thirteen New Testament books, admitted that what he wanted to do, he sometimes failed to do. What he didn’t want to do, sometimes he did (Romans 7:14-23). He was guilty of sins of commission and sins of omission and cried out to God, “What a wretched man I am!” (Romans 7:24).

We can say the same!

So, make the first verse of Romans eight a Bible Bullet. Memorize it! Meditate on it! Spit is back in the face of the Tempter and Accuser. “There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Our eternal salvation was blood-bought at Calvary!

I’m not condemned. I’m loved! I’ve been adopted by a Loving Father! I’m forgiven! I’m safe and secure! I’m a new creation, wrapped in His robe of righteousness! “There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus” … I’m not condemned!

“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
