Isaiah 6:1-3
Have you heard someone say, “I’m excited about seeing Heaven! I just can’t wait to walk on the streets of gold!” Forgive my blunt response but, that’s like saying, “when I visit the Whitehouse, I’ll get to check out the carpet in the hallway.” If you go to the Whitehouse, you want to see the person who lives there. Right? You want to see the President.
The best thing in Heaven won’t be streets of gold (Revelation 21:21) or the River of Life (Revelation 22:1), although these sights will be spectacular. Without a doubt, the best thing in Heaven will be God Himself.
You’ve heard folks say, “when I get up there, I’m gonna see my sweet momma!” or “I’ll see Moses or Abraham Lincoln or Billy Graham…” Yes, but…
When God gave the prophet Isaiah a quick peak into Heaven’s Throne Room, he “saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphim were standing above him; they each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. And one called to another: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies; his glory fills the whole earth” (Isaiah 6:1–3).
When we arrive in the place that God has prepared for those that love Him, we’ll see Jesus! We’ll recognize Him as the One who died to redeem our lost souls.
With the angelic beings, we’ll fall in reverence at the feet of Jesus. Then we’ll lift our voices and sing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies; his glory fills the whole earth!”
Remember these verses of Scripture. Meditate on them. “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”(Colossians 3:2).
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
