Revelation 22:1-5

As we set our “minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2), we can envision of a place where Almighty God is accessible to every man, woman, and child and a place where “we will worship Him (and) will see His face” (Revelation 22:3-4).

Could we also imagine rivers and trees in Heaven? Read John’s account in the last chapter of the last book: “Then he showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the city’s main street. The tree of life was on each side of the river, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations, and there will no longer be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. Night will be no more; people will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light, and they will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:1-5).

This passage makes me long for a home in a better-than-ever Eden; a place where we will work with our hands; a place where we will explore, learn, and grow; a place where we will walk in the meadows, wade in the rivers, and climb the hills; a place absent of crime or confusion, sadness or sickness, darkness or death; a place where we will live unashamed in the presence of our holy God.

When you are weary with worry, turn your eyes toward home.

“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
