Psalm 119:11, 105
The one-hundred-nineteenth Psalm is the longest chapter in the Bible with one-hundred seventy-six verses. Interestingly, the Psalm is about the Bible, with a reference to the Bible in nearly every verse.
“Happy are those who keep his decrees and seek him with all their heart” (Psalm 119:2).
“I will lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and will meditate on your statutes” (Psalm 119:48).
“Teach me good judgment and discernment, for I rely on your commands” (Psalm 119:66).
“The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding” (Psalm 119:130).
Notice the many synonymous words the Psalmist uses in reference to the Bible… decrees, commands, statutes, commands, words, and revelation.
Two verses among so many are worth memorizing and meditating upon. These verses help us know the secret to a victorious life.
“I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11) and “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).
The Christ-follower who treasures God’s word and who allows God’s word to give light to his path will be blessed! In fact, these verses reveal the secret to a victorious life!
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
