And Then There's John

The Bible has four Gospel accounts: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The first three are known as the Synoptic Gospels because, at least for the most part, their perspectives and storytelling are very similar.

And then there’s John.

John knew Jesus more intimately than almost anyone else on earth. A disciple and close friend of Jesus who refers to himself in his book simply as “the disciple Jesus loved,” John tells his stories with a deep sense of closeness and understanding.

The stories and teachings that he chooses to include, the truths that he highlights, and even the personal insight he occasionally shares reflect his own unique experience with the Jesus who loved him.

So to study the Gospel of John is to see Jesus up close. To sit right next to Him and hear His whispered words. To go with Him to secret places. To be His beloved.

Study the Gospel of John with us!

For the next four months, families are invited to read and learn from John together as part of our church’s Wednesday night Seek Bible program.

Preschoolers through parents are spending each week learning the same stories and teachings and truths found in this up-close encounter with Jesus! Study booklets with weekly reading guides are available.

This week’s reading is John 1:1-34.

It’s not too late to join us and behold Jesus in the Gospel of John!
