SGBC in 2018

God was at work at South Georgia Baptist Church in 2018,

leading our congregation to trust and follow Him in new ways for His glory!

We thank God for all He has done this year!

God in 2018 led SGBC to prayerfully plan to begin a new church in Amarillo.

SGBC is preparing to launch Tradewind Community Church in 2019.

This new missions endeavor seeks to bring the Gospel of Jesus to a rapidly growing area of our city that has few churches.

A Church-Planting Church

SGBC in 2018 welcomed three new members to its pastoral staff:

Casey Flynt was named Worship Pastor in February;

Jonathan Dindinger was called as Community Outreach Pastor in June;

and Marcus Wilson joined SGBC as Associate Family Pastor in September.

New Pastors, New Roles

With a desire to support our local elementary school campus, SGBC in 2018 provided school supplies and backpacks for every child attending South Georgia Elementary School. Church members prepared and distributed more than 400 backpacks full of supplies, praying for students and their families.
